: 18th Birthday (Debut) Tarpaulin Layout::

It was my niece's 18th birthday last Sept. 25 but we had a party for her last Sat. (27th) and here is the layout of the tarpaulin that I made for her. A relative of my sis-in-law had it printed 4' x 3' in size and I am happy with the result bec. it is not pixelated. But I know it will turn out nice since I made it using 300 dpi.

I also made a simple matching invitations for her.

Halloween is just around the corner and some of you will be trick or treatin' this year. What a perfect way to keep the kids' photos is to scrap them. I remember when my nephews and nieces were still kids we used to dress them up with Halloween costumes bring them to the malls for trick or treatin'. There's even a time where one of my nephew won the best Halloween costume. He wore a mask of a creature that my brother made for him. Anyway, i hope you enjoy the freebies that I featured for today, I need to hunt for for freebies and finish this cheap auto insurance opp that I have.

:Camera Critters: Frog Prince!:

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
This is my very 1st time to join CAMERA CRITTERS.

One rainy night my niece called my attention and told me that there is a big frog outside my store and asked me to look at it. It was really big and I was a bit scared to get near it as I am afraid of frogs whether it is small or big.

YAy, i just took my camera and took a shot of it and hey look...... it turned into a prince ! lol. Now I have my FROG PRINCE! Should I kiss it? Maybe he'll turn into a handsome prince.. what ya think??

There is PC card, Memory Stick,Mini SD, Micro SD, Compact Flash (I am using Sandisk CF for my Canon 400d XTi DSLR), xd picture card and many more. What ever cards we use we should always pick the best brands and the reliable ones, we don't want to lose our precious photos right?

This week's theme at Litratong Pinoy is Golden/Gold and actually my original entry was posted at my OTHER BLOG but I saw this Golden Mask made of fiber glass created by my older bro that so I thought this is another good subject.

I also asked my 11 yr-old nephew to be my model and actually i took few shots of him while he is getting tired before I finally nailed the shot that I wanted. I also love my nifty fifty lens of mine bec. it gives a nice depth of field and that's the only lens I am using right now since my kit lens is not sharp.

I Have another entry on HERE

Hey Peeps, if you are thinking of grabbing one of Canon's DSLR cameras and lenses then this is your chance to get them where you can save up to $150 bec. Canon is having a End of Summer Instant Rebates. This promo is applicable for Canon EOS 40D and EOS Rebel XSi & EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM and EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III lenses. Don't you just love rebates and discounts?

For me I have to save more to buy Canon EF-S 18-200mm IS lens this year and hopefully (keeping my fingers crossed) on my birthday this November that is why I am kinda starving myself at least (I don’t need those diet pills) anymore, just to buy that lens hahaha. Seriously I need a new lens with zoom aside from the 50mm 1.8 fix lens that I am always using.

: Photohunt: WILD

I know a lot of photohunters will be sharing wild animals or flowers as their entry this week so I thought I will not post the same. Anyway, here is the WILD jet boat ride that I saw when we visited Sydney Harbour. It is actually is one of the fastest and most thrilling rides that you can take advantage of when you want some thrill near Sydney Harbour.

Ahhh I didn't dare ride this one bec. I am just too scared of the bumpy and wet ride. Imagine it's like a speeding bullet with awesome spins and amazing power break stops. Oh boy, I am not ready for that wild ride, my stomach will just tumbling down..lol

: FREEBIE Digital Scrapbooking Stuff

Click images to download them at designer's blogs
Just finished downloading some of these yummy digital scrapbooking FREEBIES from different blogs of designers. Sharon is one of my favorite designer as well as scrapper, she is a minimalist scrapper with simple yet stunning digital layouts, plus her photos are crisps and awesome. I have been downloading a lot of digi freebies lately and the only problem that I have is when will I start scrapping again bec. my mojo is not here anymore. The last time i made a layout is about 3 months ago and I am itching to scrap again.

I am glad there are FREEBIES that I can download I don't need to buy any digital scrapbooking kits anymore in this way, I can save a bit more to buy a new CANON 18-200 mm lens this year, i will just set aside my desire to buy an LCD HDTV bec. it is a bit expensive. I'd just choose the lens that I am eyeing since it was released this month.

I wasn't able to join last week so i hurriedly look for an entry this week's theme Silver. This is my Fossil watch with crystal stones that I bought at David Jones in Australia this year. I love watches so even though I already have quite a few, I hurriedly bought this bec. it was on sale at that time. Bought it with my sister and with our other friends and when they learned that I am goin' to buy one they also bought each. This is also special bec. i bought it with my hard earned blogging money hehehe..

: My Birthday Wish List

My birthday is coming in 2 months time and every year I see to it that I will give myself a gift. Last year I was able to give and buy myself a Canon 400d Rebel Xti out of my savings and of course I am so happy to own a DSLR. I am still using this up to now, in fact I also bought a 50mm 1.8 lens that I really enjoyed bec. of its aperture. Now that canon releases a new lens in the market just this month, I am eyeing that Canon EF-S 18-200 mm lens. But oh boy I saw that it costs about $700 and that is a bit pricey.

Awww I hope I can earn more this month before my birthday so I can buy that. I am trying my best in budgeting and planning so I can save extra for this expensive hobby of mine. Ahhhh I can't wait to have that lens on my digi-cam.

: Wannabe Photographer :

That’s what I am dreaming to become maybe in the near future, who knows. As a newbie every time I see a good photo with great composition and nice lighting that always inspire me and of course I always wish that I can take photos like that. There are practically thousands of flickr accounts where we can browse beautiful photographs taken by novice to pro photographers. Whenever I have extra time I try to browse some of them to serve as my inspiration. I also love to see people carrying cameras over their heads and often got envy those that have long L lenses that they often show off. Don’t you know that there are many people who are earning lots by being a photographer and I know they put a lot of effort, time in their jobs? Oh well not everyone aspires to become a photographer that is why some are in search of Atlanta jobs over the net. What about you, are you a photographer wannabe?

: PH: Strings

This is my older bro's guitar and as you can see it's kinda old and chippin' already and I am guessing it was around 5 or so years already. I tried to learn how to play the guitar once during one summer but I guess I have no talent it this one. My fingers are kinda bruisin' bec. of the sharp strings and I don;t think I have the beat for strummin'. How'd i wish I know how to play, i just envy who can.

: Canon releases EF-S 18-200 mm IS lens :

I have been really saving up to buy another lens since I am not using my kit lens anymore. I wanted a gift for my b-day this Nov. so I have been eyeing the 28-135mm lens. But when I saw this new lens from Canon, my heart jumped for joy bec. the zoom range is what I wanted, it;s like combining a kit lens with a telephoto one. Canon says:

It is compact, lightweight and a wide magnification range - this standard zoom lens features a wide focal length range from normal to telephoto equivalent to 29-320mm in the 35mm format. It features an Optical Image Stabilizer for up to 4-stops of effective correction even at full zoom. Since Canon's optical image stabilization system is in the lens, not in the camera, you can see the stabilized, steadier images through the viewfinder. And the circular aperture can give beautiful background blur effects. This new wide zoom ratio EF-S lens delivers excellent high-speed performance at an affordable price.
Arggghhhh... i know it is still pricey since it is still hot off from Canon factory. I am still going to canvass prices. If I can't buy this EF-S 18-200 mm f/3.5 -5.6 IS, i will just settle for the 28-135mm lens. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I can buy this, it's on my wish list now eventhough it is much expensive than the Guess, Fossil and Nautica watches that I am eyeing online.

: New Header , New Name:

Just finished making this new header for this blog. Actually Tara Dunstan's online shop inspired me to do this header of mine. Tara is the designer who made this beautiful kit FUNKY NATURE that she shared over at Funky Playground. I missed the DL links over at Funky Playground but Tara is so generous enough that she shared it again on her blog. Go get it it will only be available till Sept. 5. She is also having 50% off on her digi store.

I also was not satisfied with the title of my blog so i replaced it from Jenny Said So to SCRAPS & SHOTS since I am posting here about my digital scrapbooking stuff and digi- photos. I just love the header that I made and I am itching to use the kit on my scrapping too.

: Our Daily Exercise :

Thank goodness, I woke up early this morning and dragged my self out of my bed, ate my breakfast and got our badminton rackets. My sister in law is my playing buddy almost every morning to give our bodies some energy to do all the works. We are just playing in front of our house (street) bec. it is seldom that vehicles pass by so we don;t need to pay for the court to play. We also need to exercise so that some of our toxins in the body will be washed away in our sweat and because we are not getting any younger anymore. Although we can't play every day religiously bec. of some reasons at least we can stay fit unlike those people who are so huge and who already need weight loss programs to keep themselves fit. Try this sport, half hour or an hour of palying is enough to get you going.

: Someday :

I was feeling sentimental one day and thought i'd asked my niece to capture my emotion through picture (hahaha talagang nag -pa picture pa ko!). I also scrapped this photo of mine when I was still in the mood to scrap and I love the way it turned out. Actually I am making a scrap album just fro myself so I hope I can make lots of LO's in the future. You can see the digi scrap layout that I made using this photo of mine.

: Magical Disney World:

If there is one place here on earth that I dreamed of visiting to then I’d say that I definitely want to see Disney Land in the US! Disney is not only a place for kids but adults and those young at heart as well and without doubt any one who visited here will cherish those memories.

With many tourists flocking in each year in this magical place, there are many discounted Disney World tickets
that any vacationer can avail of. Fun filled laughter and great theme parks will treat each guest inside the park. There are many tour options that anyone can get advantage and in this way you can budget your money for this vacation. Ahhhh I can’t wait to see Mickey mouse and other Disney characters and be young again.

: I Miss Her!:

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
This is my niece Micah when she had her 1st balikbayan vacation back here in the Phils. last December. She spent her Christmas holidays here and during that time my DSLR was still new so I made her my model to practice the different settings on my camera. She's got her sign board there "I love my dad' bec. she thought it'll be a nice to give her dad a gift back home and she ended up ordering a mouse pad for her dad with this picture and pictures of her siblings. It was fun taking her photos bec. she really can pose and look she's even making faces in this animation.

Having lived in Australia for 5 years now she was already used to cool and nice weather so when she stayed here she easily got uncomfortable bec. of the heat and humidity here in the Phils. It is still winter in OZ land and i bet she is wearing those thick clothes and boots every time they go out. I am not sure though if it's a UGG boots brand. We all miss her and her family but when we got the chance we see them on video cam everytime we chat on YG. I can't wait for them (the whole family) to take a Chirstmas vacation here in Dec. of 2009.
